FUNDRAISING AND MARKETING MANAGER

ABOUT THE DILLON QUIRKE FOUNDATION

Dillon Quirke was just * years old when he
collapsed during a hurling match and died of Sudden Adult Death
Syndrome on 5th August *, at Semple Stadium in
Thurles. Dillon’s family established the Foundation to prevent other
families from going through what they have experienced and, in the
process, to save countless lives. Every year, SADS takes **Apply on
the website** young lives in Ireland alone - a startling statistic
that surpasses rates in many European countries. Research has shown
that cardiac screening can significantly reduce the incidence of SADS.
That’s why the Dillon Quirke Foundation is on a mission to:

* Deliver free cardiac screenings to young sports players (aged
*) in a variety of sports clubs across Ireland
* Raise awareness of SADS
* Reduce the incidence of SADS in Ireland

We are a new Foundation that is off to a big start. We set up in early
*, and used that year to plan our strategy and
governance carefully, then started cardiac screening and awareness
work in early *. We have raised over €1.5m in
that time, with more in the pipeline for *. Our
goal is to screen 5, * children each year,

We are now in a position to recruit a dedicated fundraiser to ensure
sustainability for the coming years.

ROLE TYPE

This is a permanent part-time role, 3 days per week (we can be
flexible on days/hours). Your usual work day will be remote as we do
not have a fixed office, however travel to donors and events will be
needed. Therefore a full clean driver’s licence will be required.

SALARY

website**). We are offering a competitive salary as we are small and
new, so don’t have a range of additional financial benefits to add
to the salary.

THE ROLE

You will report to the General Manager and Board, and work with a
small team (currently 4 part time) of staff plus volunteers. While we
have a number of fundraising channels started, this role is a chance
to shape the fundraising strategy and implement your experience and
ideas. We are a very adaptable team, with decisions being made quickly
and we value initiative (and a sense of humour!). It is very much a
‘hands on role’ not purely team management.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

FUNDRAISING:

* Implement comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the
foundation's mission, goals, and financial objectives.
* Identify and cultivate potential key donor relationships and
funding opportunities.
* Diversify revenue streams and fundraising strands, including major
donors, corporate partnerships, trusts, community events, online
campaigns.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with donors and manage all
partner relationships, providing exceptional donor care, responding
promptly, acknowledging contributions, and expressing gratitude for
support.
* Research grant opportunities, prepare grant proposals, and submit
funding applications to foundations, government agencies, and other
grant-making organisations.
* Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records, gift
processing, and acknowledgement systems.
* Generate donor reports, track donor engagement, and evaluate
fundraising performance.

MARKETING:

Manage the marketing and social media supports (part time staff
member, and PR and Fundraising agencies) to :

* Develop and implement marketing strategies to raise awareness of
the foundation's mission, programmes, and impact, targeting diverse
audiences through various communication channels, based off **Apply on

* Create the foundation's communications, ensuring consistency and
alignment across all marketing materials.
* Create engaging content for the foundation's website, and social
media platforms to drive traffic, increase engagement, and foster
community involvement.
* Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and
participate in online conversations to enhance the foundation's
visibility and reputation.

GENERAL:

* Collaborate closely with the General Manager, Board members,
staff, volunteers, and external partners to align fundraising and
marketing activities with organisational priorities and objectives.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical
standards in fundraising practices
* Participate in the overall team to ensure collaborative teamwork
and keep colleagues informed of upcoming events / campaigns

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

* Minimum of 4 years’ experience in fundraising, marketing, sales,
or business development
* Proven track record of successful fundraising across multiple
channels including local volunteer groups, corporate sponsorships,
grants and appeals
* Excellent communication and influencing skills
* Ability to deliver annual income and expenditure targets in line
with the fundraising plan
* Driven, ambitious, and tenacious
* Ability to think creatively and take initiative
* Ability to build long term relationships with donors
* Confidence to ask for donations and resilience to deal with
disappointments
* Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
